Beautiful Tragedy

Beautiful Tragedy was written in the fall of 2009 and is inspired by the life of Brook’s grandmother. In a life-long battle with depression as so well described in the lyrics, her life came to a tragic end in the summer of 2008. Her life remains a celebration by her 3 daughters and grandchildren.This song is a tribute to a wonderful person who is deeply missed by many.

Mastermind is based on the experience of lives being suddenly changed by circumstances beyond our control. We do our best to plan… and then life happens. Do we take the time to appreciate what we have and the time we are given?

Believe

Believe is a song that encourages young girls not to listen to the gossip or mean talk of other girls. Sometimes girls can be nasty, and this song reminds girls to believe in themselves and not be brought down by others. If we believe in ourselves and our goals, we will achieve them. Keep on believing!

No More

My sister and I were on holidays in Palm Springs and we collaborated on the ideas and words for this song. When you’re a teenager there can be a lot of drama, especially around relationships. This song talks about a boy who is a smooth talker and a player; he’s trying to have his cake and eat it too. Don’t put up with it!

Summer Time

This song reflects many fond memories of summers spent at Shuswap Lake; an annual tradition with my family. I think everyone can relate to dreaming about summer during our long, cold winter months in B.C. Summer is my favorite season of the year.
